Marilyn Morris is one of the in-house original dialogue/ADR mixers for Feature Animation at Netflix. Originally from Santa Cruz, CA, she grew up listening to her parents’ record collection, making movies with her Hi8 camcorder, and playing bass in a pop punk band. She moved to Los Angeles to attend the USC School of Cinematic Arts and graduated with honors and a degree in Cinema-Television Production.

Marilyn worked at Bell Sound Studios after college, where she specialized in ADR, original dialogue, and voiceover recording for six years. To expand her career, Marilyn moved to the Bay Area to work as a mix technician and editorial assistant at Skywalker Sound. She embraced the opportunity to work alongside some of the top ears in the business while collaborating on several of her favorite franchises, including Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Pixar animation.

Marilyn’s favorite part of her job at Skywalker was assisting loop group sessions at Disney, which fostered the realization that she needed to return to LA to refocus on ADR mixing. She found a home at Waterman Sound as their dedicated ADR/original dialogue mixer, where she received two Cinema Audio Society Award nominations for her work on Cobra Kai S3 and Ted Lasso S1. She is now working at Netflix Animation as one of the inaugural mixers in their in-house recording studios, and she is thrilled to be part of Netflix's foray into in-house recording from the beginning.

In her spare time Marilyn plays trumpet in a ska band, brews her own beer, and enjoys movies and TV shows on her home Dolby Atmos system.
